NOCO | Step-by-Step No Compaction Flagstone Installation

NOCO is the latest innovation in jointing technology from Techniseal, the hardscape industry's leading manufacturer of products to install, maintain, and protect your outdoor living spaces.

Specially developed for flagstone installation, NOCO is a "No Compaction" polymeric jointing compound that provides hardscapers with the first true alternative to mortar and polymeric stone dust. In addition to natural stones, NOCO can also be used to joint other paving materials for which mechanical compaction is not recommended or not traditionally utilized.

With NOCO's straightforward 3-step application process, hardscape professionals can always work with confidence when carrying out flagstone installations in commercial and residential areas.

Installing flagstones in 3 Easy Steps with NOCO

Fast, easy, and clean to apply, NOCO allows for the strong and durable jointing of natural stones, wet cast pavers, concrete pavers, and large slabs.

Before every installation, it is essential to carefully read this product's technical data sheet as it contains crucial instructions specific to each paving material.

Step 1 - Spread NOCO across the installation surface

First, cut open the NOCO bags and spread the product evenly, pushing it with a tough-bristle street broom into the joints, working on a small section at a time.

For uniform results, NOCO should always be spread over short distances to maintain a consistent concentration of polymers everywhere on the installation surface.

Once the joints are filled, use the broom to remove excess NOCO from the pavers' surface.

Even though compaction is not mandatory when using NOCO, a slab and paver roller compactor or a rubber mallet can be used to compact the surface. This step, however, is optional.

Step 2 - Level the joints and remove excess product

Using a leaf blower, level the joints' height and remove all NOCO residues from the installation surface. If needed, add small amounts of product to fill up the joints or use a small brush to smooth them down. This will allow for a uniform finish over the whole surface once activation is done.

Step 3 - Activate NOCO with water

The third and final step of NOCO's installation is the product's activation with water. Before you begin watering the surface, please refer to the technical datasheet to learn about variations in the different paving materials' activation process.

Whatever the type of material, please remember the three following directions :

  • NOCO activation should be carried out using a water hose nozzle in "shower" mode.
  • Throughout the activation process, check for water accumulation on the surface of pavers or stones as a cue to stop watering.
  • Avoid overwatering NOCO as this will lengthen the curing time and may result in additive wash out in extreme cases.

Once the activation has been completed, block access to the area for 24-48 hours to allow NOCO to cure completely. The surface should be protected from rain throughout this period.

Rely on NOCO for beautiful and durable flagstone installations

Perfect for pedestrian surfaces in commercial and residential areas, NOCO can be used to joint patios, pool decks, walkways, and terraces. Available in two colors: Iron Grey and Desert Tan, this polymeric jointing compound guarantees all flagstone installations' beauty and durability.
