What is the NextBase panel system?

Will it decay in the ground?

No. NextBase is made from high-density polypropylene that will remain stable for over 100 years.

Is it environmentally friendly?

Yes. NextBase is 100% environmentally friendly. It is made from high-density polypropylene that will not leach chemicals or degrade in the soil for over 100 years.

How long does it last?

NextBase is engineered to last for several decades.

Will it stop water from draining?

No. Each panel features draining holes, slopes and evacuation channels that will return water to the native soil. The drainage capacity of these new panels has been improved. Installing NextBase does not interfere with soil irrigation and leaves no visible distinction.

Can I use it on a slopped surface?

Yes. Nextbase is perfectly suited for slopped surfaces.

How deep do I need to dig?

On average, it will be necessary to dig approximately 3 ⅝″ deep. The exact depth needed will depend on the thickness of the pavers or slab that you use (please refer to the technical data sheet for detailed instructions)

Can I use it with natural stone or tiles?

Yes. NextBase is ideal for pavers, wet-cast pavers, natural stone and porcelain tiles.

Is it required to have a layer of sand when installing the panels?

Yes. A layer of sand (½″ compacted) as well as a geotextile fabric will give stability to the installation, which is critical.

Do Nextbase panels always have to be installed in the same direction?

No. NextBase panels can be turned 90° and fit together perfectly without additional cutting, benefiting from the interlocking system.

Do I need special tools to cut NextBase panels?

No. NextBase panels feature SNAP IT technology, with integrated cutting lines every 3". Panel dimensions can be adjusted by applying pressure at specific points. A utility knife may be required in certain situations.
